Highlights of the camp

The C2 Elite Training Program (ETP) is geared towards athletes that are striving to make a transition into the next level. We offer two packages to choose from to accommodate your summer schedule.

This camp is limited in space, as we will cap registration in the following groups to focus on specific skills along with individual positions:

  • (15) Forwards
  • (12) Defensemen
  • (2) Goaltenders

Proper technique and repetition will be reinforced through multiple aspects of skill set and position specific drills, including:

  • Power Skating and Edge Work
  • Shooting and Shooting in Stride
  • Stickhandling and Confidence with the Puck
  • Angling and Body Contact
  • Dekes
  • Puck Protection

Each session will feature three instructors that specialize in offense, defense, and goaltending.

Upon submission, C2 Hockey will review your application and send confirmation of acceptance. Full payment will be required upon acceptance. All transactions are final (no refunds).

DRY-LAND OPTIONS

Optional Dryland Training

Strength training is a vital component to every athlete's game that will act as a means to increase not only one's level of strength and rate for force development, but also their overall athletic ability while lessening the potential for injury. This in turn will go a long way in preparing one for the next hockey season while gaining an advantage over other players they will be competing against that rely solely on skill alone.

Garrett J. Krug of Champion Sports Advantage will be offering training at All Seasons Ice Rinks for any ETP participants that are interested for the optional drylands training.

Training sessions will be 75 minutes, in which athletes will learn proper speed mechanics through various drills as well as with the use of Freelap Timers, which are electric timers to accurately express one’s speed. These sessions will also incorporate hockey specific agility work through the use of open chain drills that require an athlete to think and act instead of follow a rigid movement pattern. Besides speed and agility, various plyometric exercises as well as total body strength circuits will be emphasized to create a more complete athlete, who will be ready for their upcoming season. In addition, athletes will learn how to properly warm-up prior to training, whether in the gym or before practice/games, as well as learn various soft-tissue techniques for combating muscle tightness and soreness.

Included within the ETP Dryland Training Package will be a pre and post-testing of each of the athletes, which will feature electrically timed sprints as well as other various tests of power such as Broad Jump and Vertical Jump variations. The initial testing will be held as a Workshop prior to starting, which athletes will also go over exercise technique and various other components of their training. The Workshop schedule will be posted in mid-May once it is known how many athletes will be participating within the dryland training program.

All training will follow each groups on-ice session. These training sessions will be limited to only 12 athletes (a minimum of 6 athletes is needed to run the program) and you must register by May 12th so I can organize the Workshop prior to starting. Here is the training schedule for each group:

For those who want to attend extra days or who cannot attend these training times, Champion Sports Advantage also offers Sports Performance Group Training for athletes year round, which are small athlete-based group training sessions.
